What are the techniques for squeezing and hanging leather?
Wet forming and leather lasting refer to techniques that utilize the "plasticity" of vegetable-tanned leather, which allows the leather to stretch when wet and maintain its shape when dried in that state. These techniques enable the three-dimensional shaping of leather and are primarily used in the production of the upper part of leather shoes.
This method requires considerable time, effort, and skill, but it creates a unique charm that cannot be achieved through sewing.

Why do we make bags using squeezed and hung leather?
Bags made using leather gathering and leather hanging techniques existed in ancient Europe, but they have almost disappeared now. This is because they are labor-intensive and time-consuming.
However, we believe that once a technology is lost, it cannot be regained, which is why we dare to challenge leather squeezing and leather hanging. Rather than letting techniques that are fading away due to the burden of time and effort be neglected, we aim to pass on the skills left by our predecessors to future generations by introducing products that utilize these techniques to the world.
